Wiley Turbeville was born in 1794. He married Mary Christenberry in 1820 in Davidson County, Tennessee. They had 13 children. Wiley Turbeville died in 1848 in Davidson County, Tennessee; Mary Turbeville died there in 1885.
Memories
"I feel very sure W. C. Turbeville and Mary Christenberry were my great grandparents (father and mother of my grandmother Logan). We lived not very far from the Old Mill Creek Baptist Church. The area where we lived was known as Flat Rock at one time. I remember going to that cemetery with my aunt when I was a child and her telling me her grandparents were buried there. My grandmother's two oldest children were named Mary and Willie. She had two brothers I know of, Lafayette and Jim, also a sister Cynthia Boyd. My great uncle Jim had a son Willie who was killed in World War I. He also had a daughter Polly who died last year. Don't know if she married."
[From correspondence: Martha Elder Sparks (great-granddaughter of Wiley and Mary Turbeville, granddaughter of Martha Turbeville Logan, and daughter of Maude Logan Elder) to Robert S. Elder III, about 1978] [record, page 2]
