Philip Henry Paine was born in 1838 in Kent, England. Frances Miranda Croft was born in 1851 in Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada. Philip Paine married first Kate Doran in 1865, and Frances Croft married first William Edwards in 1868. After their first spouses died, they married in 1879 in Houghton County, Michigan. Altogether they probably had 11 children. He died in 1928 and she in 1931, both in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.

Review of Tuesday announces the death at Woodstock of Mr. T. L. Paine, formerly of Ingersoll, and brother of Mrs. L. Thompson, King
Street west. The Sentinel Review says: Thomas L. Paine of 163 Beale Street died last night after a protracted illness at the age of sixty-one years.
The deceased who formerly lived in Ingersoll, has been a well known and respected resident of this city for about fifteen years. He is survived by a wife and six
children. The children are Fred of Buffalo; Lewis of Lake Linden, Mich.; Mrs. Colin Thompson of Innerkip; and
Mattie, Florence and Mary at home. The funeral arrangements are not yet completed.

I was told (and have forgotten the source) that Philip and Kate Paine had a daughter Kate after Augusta. I haven't found mention of her in any record.
Note that there was a Rispah and an Augusta in the Anthony family with whom Kate Doran was living in 1860 (record 6). This may indicate a family connection.
